Goya Lentils in the 4 lb plastic bag are known as lentejas in Spanish. These tiny, light-brown lentils are related to beans and peanuts and have a rich, starchy texture and flavor. No other legume except the soybean has as much protein as lentils. A 1/4-cup serving contains 10 grams of protein, 20 percent of the daily requirements of iron and almost half of the total recommended fiber. They contain no fat or cholesterol.
